I am writing a 2 act play about Anne Bonny and Mary Read!

I've been researching for four years and I've started to hone in on a decent time line.  Check out the summary below!

The problem with Pirate research is that most of what is recorded as history is legend and exaggerated reputation.  So, I've tried my best to make sense of their lives and filter through the information that is out there, most of which skates over details and romanticizes the lives of these two women.

Anne and Mary lived in a very different era from our own.  We don't have e-mail or text message records, let alone actual addresses.  Pirates don't keep ship logs and what happens at sea, stays at sea! (and then is exaggerated or twisted later)

Thank you and as I make more progress on this project, I'll post some scenes.  I may even make it into a musical if I am so inspired.  We'll see...

I am writing a 2 act musical entitled:

             Pirate Tenaya and her Gay Crew;
           the Pirate of Love's World Voyage

This is a production perfect for any theatre.  I would love to perform it in San Francisco by the Maritime museum.  They are currently renovating, so maybe I can produce it at the opening party!  Much of the action takes place on the deck of our pirate ship., and other settings can be implied with lighting, a set on a wagon, or a chair!  Captain Tenaya and her crew travel the world and visit many ports.

The story finds Tenaya as the Captain of her own ship, and with her crew, she visits the world's ports.  The crew hosts parties to fund the voyage, and at each port, each pirate must get some booty!

Tenaya's plan of getting booty worldwide is going great until a geologist falls in love with her and won't take no for an answer.  Tenaya falls for him a little too.

However, there's a stow away on board who has malicious intent planned for Tenaya.  Someone from her past who intends on exposing Tenaya's shameful past.

Will the geologist still love her after he knows what she's done?  Can Tenaya forgive herself?
